The Roots
The foundation of Ezuri lies in the acoustic vibrations of the Nyatiti—an eight-stringed lyre from the Luo people of Western Kenya. It's a sound that carries the stories of ancestors, tuned to the heartbeat of the savanna.
Our journey began in Nairobi's vibrant music scene, where traditional rhythms were shared in open-air gatherings, creating a sacred connection between the past and the present.
The Evolution
As the band moved to Coventry, the rhythm encountered the raw energy of UK street culture. The acoustic strings met distorted synthesizers, heavy basslines, and the gritty, industrial landscape of the West Midlands.
